Our tri-county picnic on June 4 was fabulous. The food, beverages, and camaraderie were great - many of our clubs’ members walked away with incredible bargains from the Show-and-Tell/Swap-and-Sell tables.
Attendance was down a little - mostly from the gloomy-looking skies, but the small amount of precipitation didn’t really rain on our parade. We had a terrific time!
As we now settle in to the dog days of Summer, our annual activity hiatus sits before us. So many of our members are hitting the road for rockhounding and gem shows out-of-state that we’re not able to round up enough folks to have meetings or other events. So, there won’t be much happening on this web page - or in our monthly newsletter.
Nontheless, check back here now and then for any late-breaking bulletins!
Happy Summer. ‘See you in September!
Our Officers and Board will be meeting shortly to plan our Fall activities. One major issue is finding a conveniently-located affordable place to hold our monthly meetings. Another issue is securing a lower-cost storage facility for our specimens, equipment, and supplies. (We’re currently paying $250 monthly for a 200 square foot unit without air-conditioning.) Also, we’ve not been able to offer lapidary and jewelry arts workshops for more than seven years due to lack of a physical site to hold them.
What is it that the real estate professionals say? Location, locationlocation! That’s our need and our quest. If you have any ideas or suggestions, please contact us at: webguy@mmlg-Inc.org.
